So, haven’t written about my current day to day life in a while. Might as well get that over with since the last post was sort of relevant!

Right now, I’m doing basically nothing.

My semester is over, so I’m not doing schoolwork, and I’m currently unemployed. It makes for a lot of free time, and I’m not doing a whole lot of productive things with it. But for the first time in a while, I’m perfectly okay with that. My improv troupe just did their performance we’ve been working for for months now, so I feel like it’s finally time to relax. Besides, Overwatch came out this week and all of my people are playing it right now.

That being said, I did just spend the weekend dog-sitting for some friends. It was sort of unexpected, because the plan (at least for me, given the information I had) was to stop by a few times over the weekend to feed them. What it turned out to be, though, was me literally spending the night over there because the dogs are needy and bark and those friends have some nasty neighbors. In fact, this weekend I found out that I cannot sleep with other things in my bed. Perhaps it was the snoring or the constant getting up to reposition, but those dogs inhibited my ability to sleep way further than I already do myself. I tried leaving them outside to sleep elsewhere in the house the second night, but when they were barking outside at two in the morning I had to do something. The only way I knew how to make sure they stayed in line was to, unfortunately, let them in the bed and concede all prospects of a quality slumber. If I ever own a dog, they will definitely not be allowed in my bed. Cats are a different story, because they’re much smaller, have softer fur, and don’t snore. At least the normal cats don’t.

I also tried to follow up with some places I applied for. I’m being very selective with my job hunting right now because I don’t want to get stuck with a job I hate… again. Mostly that means not working with people and/or working in a more comfortable environment. But, as it stands it doesn’t look like either place I’ve been looking at really care. I had an almost perfect application to one place, and all prospects were good, but I never even got so much as a phone call. The other place I applied to isn’t hiring (as far as I know), but it doesn’t hurt to give them your resume. I’m not surprised I’ve heard nothing from them, but still. I do want a job because of how much free time I’ve suddenly acquired, But I’d rather not have a job than do something I hate. I don’t expect to have many “free” months basically ever again in my entire life, so I’m just enjoying it now.

In other news, I’m planning a beach day with my improv people at the end of the week, but since we’ll be short on transportation I hope to be able to drive people there. Only problem with that is that I don’t have a license, so my test is Tuesday. I’m not sure how comfortable I’ll be driving to the beach with people in the car, especially since the furthest I’ve ever driven is about ten miles to school (not including the ten miles back). I doubt anything will live up to my expectations because of how soon the deadline is, but we’ll see how it goes.
